Mobile payment apps have been on the rise over the last couple of years, and now one of the biggest fast food chains is joining the mix. Burger King, with more than 7000 US locations, will soon begin accepting payments through the Rewards mobile payment app beginning in April 2014. The fast food chain already has an e-wallet mobile payment platform but this app will enhance that app. If you don't already have a smartphone, you can sell cell phones for cash, to get the money you need to upgrade your old phone.

What the App Will Provide

Bryson Thornton, a spokesman for Burger King, said the app was developed for them by Tillster. It will roll out next month. Here are some of the features users will have access to:

  • A coupons that will be triggered whenever money is added to or "recharged" to the associated credit card
  • Nutritional information from the restaurant's menu
  • An interactive map

Down the road, Burger King hopes to add a feature that will allow customers to preorder their meals and pick them up at a later time.

What Burger King Gets

Offering any new convenience to customers is always designed to boost business. Giving customers a variety of ways to pay for their food means people won't have to drive past when they don't have certain means of paying. With more choices, those customers can stop in, pick up their meal and pay for it in the way that is most suitable for them. In addition to increased sales, Burger King plans to use information it receives regarding consumer habits. This information will no doubt be used to help the company determine future marketing strategies.

The app is already in use in some locations around the country including Sacramento, Reno, Baltimore and New York City. The use of mobile payment options is spreading and not just to another 7000 Burger King locations. Starbucks, the country's largest coffee restaurant chain estimates one of out of every 10 customers pays for purchases in their stores by using the company mobile app. If you upgrade your cell phone to get access to this app, remember that you can sell cell phones for cash. This means you can get rid of that old phone and get one that can help put more flame broiled goodness in your life.

If you still don't have a smartphone that can handle apps like this one, consider the benefits you get when you sell cell phones for cash. You can use that money to invest in a new phone that will let you have your burgers your way, whenever you want.
